YES! it is true that I love black, grey and white. BUT, as much as those colors to me are definite chic, there is always room for something bold.
I was recently ask how to put together a 50's inspired look for a plus size model. What many remember about the 50's is the pin up look which consists of high waist short shorts, halter tops, mini skirts, tube tops, and short fitted dresses with a lot of color. I think the person who best portrays this look in this decade is Katy Perry.
Although these pieces are great, especially during the summer time, they may not flatter everyones figure the same. However, that does not mean that everyone can not portray their own 50's inspired pin up look.
Above (photo1) I have put together what can be the perfect dress to accentuate the curves on this model as she poses for her 50's inspired pin up photo shoot. Because of the slit and one armed sleeve, it gives a very feminine sexy appearance without being too revealing. Also, as stated before, color is very important when considering this theme, which is why the purple compliments the bold blue shoe and feather head piece, giving the finished look a complete look.
